Naltrexone

ReVia® | Depade® | Generic

Naltrexone helps reduce the urge to drink by blocking the brain's opioid receptors—these are part of the reward system that makes alcohol feel pleasurable for some people. By dampening that response, naltrexone can make drinking feel less rewarding and reduce cravings over time.

Your provider will determine the best dose for you, but most people take 1 tablet (50 mg) once a day. Often individuals will start with a lower dose and increase over a few days to reduce side effects.

Side effects may include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, headache, dizziness, mood changes, difficulty falling or staying asleep, drowsiness, and muscle or joint pain
